Cord-Henning Brandes (62), a founding partner of Olswang LLP Germany and prestigious notary in Berlin, has joined the cross-regional independent law firm, Graf von Westphalen, as a partner with effect from 1 June 2010.

Brandes has been practising as a lawyer and notary in Berlin for more than 20 years, particularly in real estate and transactions. He particularly played a significant role in building up the Berlin office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. In future he will belong to the Real Estate Team of Graf von Westphalen and will continue his notarial office in Berlin. This will help to create an even more influential notary's office with two other notaries and three other fee-earners.

A further focus of Cord-Henning Brandes' work will be on business development. Dr. Lorenz Czajka, Head of the Firm's Real Estate Team, said, "Herr Brandes complements our Team perfectly due to the many years of experience he has in all areas of real estate law, his excellent reputation and his outstanding network in the field."
