Christian Winterhoff awarded the title of professor
Christian Winterhoff has been appointed a supernumerary professor by the Georg-August University Göttingen. The Dean of the Faculty of Law presented him with his certificate on 26 October 2009.
Prof. Dr. Christian Winterhoff (38) has worked at Graf von Westphalen in the area of public law since being admitted to the German bar in 2003 and has been a partner of the firm since January 2009. Following his doctorate and postdoctoral qualification ("habilitation") on constitutional topics Christian Winterhoff has regularly held lectures and seminars at the University of Göttingen.
At the same time he has drawn up various expert opinions relating to constitutional law in the past few years as a Rechtsanwalt (Lawyer) and has conducted numerous lawsuits before the constitutional courts. His academic qualification thus links in with his experience as a lawyer gained from advising and representing public corporations and public sector enterprises.
His professional profile is rounded off by regular academic publications. Prof. Dr. Christian Winterhoff is also a member of, inter alia, the Vereinigung der Deutschen Staatsrechtslehrer [Association of Teachers of German Constitutional Law] and the Verfassungsrechtsausschuss des Deutschen Anwaltvereins [Committee for Administrative Law of the German Lawyers' Association].
In the Juve Handbook of German Commercial Law Firms 2008/2009 Prof. Dr. Christian Winterhoff is named as a "frequently recommended lawyer" for public commercial law. Graf von Westphalen's Public Law team, of which he is a member, has been nominated as Law Firm of the Year in the public sector for the 2009 JUVE Awards. This includes the areas of procurement law, public private partnerships (PPP)/infrastructure, public environmental and planning law, state aid and lawsuits involving administrative and constitutional law.
