Graf von Westphalen advises givit ag Garantie Management Systeme on sale of givit GMS-Systems to the Zurich Group
The Freiburg company, givit ag Garantie Management Systeme, has sold givit Garantie-Management System (givit GMS) to Real Garant Versicherung AG, a company belonging to the Zurich Group. givit GMS mainly comprises trade mark rights as well as software and hardware.
With a unique web-based software solution it allows the auto trade to efficiently give guarantees on used and new vehicles, to manage the guarantees and to keep a clear overview of them by mouse-click. givit GMS was developed by Peter Patzelt (66), who had already established the Car-Garantie companies (Car-Garantie GmbH 1971, CG Car-Garantie Versicherungs-AG 1981, which is now Gothaer/Nürnberger Versicherungen), the first guarantee on annual and pre-registered cars in 1971, later introduced an insurance against repair costs and now wants to retire from business life. givit GMS is now successfully used by several hundred car dealers, including in Austria and in Switzerland. It has been agreed that the purchase price will not be disclosed.
As a subsidiary of the Zurich Group, the purchaser, Real Garant Versicherung AG, is a leading provider of insurance against guarantees for the German and European auto trade.
