Graf von Westphalen is continuing to expand in the area of public-sector commerce. With Dr. Dietrich Drömann (46) Graf von Westphalen has acquired an experienced partner with a recognised expertise, particularly in advising the public sector.
Dr. Dietrich Drömann has extensive experience in preparing and assisting with privatizations and public private partnerships (PPP). Within this field he specializes in infrastructure financing, which comprises inter alia the law governing the budget and fiscal systems of the Federal Government ("Bund"), states ("Länder") and local authorities ("Gemeinden") as well as project-specific specialist law (e.g. the law governing federal highways. Dr. Dietrich Drömann was also legal adviser to a small or medium-sized group of companies, advising it on its activities in the automotive supply and insulating material industry as well as on real property from 2002 until 2009. From this he gained extensive experience in, amongst other things, transaction work.
Dr. Dietrich Drömann also has a degree in economics, has obtained a doctorate in the law governing fiscal systems and budgetary law and has worked as a Rechtsanwalt (lawyer) since 1996. He started his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He has been a partner at the well-respected boutique law firm Servatius Rechtsanwälte in Hamburg since 2003.
Dr. Dietrich Drömann has been a partner in the Hamburg office of Graf von Westphalen since 1 April 2010.
Apart from handling mandates from small and medium-sized clients he will continue to concentrate on advising the public sector on privatization-related issues including PPP: "As I often have to draw up new solutions it is of great importance to me to be able to exchange ideas in a team of lawyers, who also have a high degree of competence in advising on issues involving the public sector.
