Graf von Westphalen expands its employment law team with a new partner

Dr. Dede Kaya (35) will join Graf von Westphalen's Frankfurt office as an partner with effect from May 2010. There he will strengthen the Employment Practice Group.

Dr. Dede Kaya has been working at Arnecke Siebold (Frankfurt) since 2004, most recently as an equity partner. He specializes in employment law. As a Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht (Accredited Specialist in Employment Law) he advises and represents international groups as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on all matters concerning collective and individual employment law, from day-to-day and transaction-related advice to litigation to negotiations with works councils and employees in senior management positions. Dr. Dede Kaya studied law at the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen and obtained a doctorate there with the grade summa cum laude, his thesis being on a topic involving collective employment law.

Dr. Dede Kaya will join Graf von Westphalen as an partner in May 2010 and will help to expand the Frankfurt office's employment law practice. In addition Dr. Dede Kaya, who has already advised a number of well-known companies with a German-Turkish background, and who has an excellent command of Turkish, intends to expand Graf von Westphalen's advice on German-Turkish legal relations. Graf von Westphalen's future partner said, "Here I have the rare opportunity of expanding the existing employment law practice while at the same time strengthening the existing Turkish Desk as a contact partner who speaks Turkish, and to do that at a such a prestigious commercial law firm as Graf von Westphalen."
Graf von Westphalen's Employment Practice Group now comprises 15 lawyers, of whom nine are partners and six are associates, and who work at all of the firm's locations. The Team was last strengthened by Dr. Malte Evers, who joined as a new partner in Hamburg in December 2008.
