GvW Lawyers draft guidelines for foreign investors

Which legal hurdles and characteristics have to be considered for foreign investments in Germany? Marian Niestedt and Dr Dominik Ziegenhahn address these issues in their article on foreign investments in Germany which was published in the volume “Foreign Investment Review 2014” as part of the renowned series “Getting the Deal Through”. In this publication, experts from 24 different jurisdictions describe the general legal framework for foreign investments in their respective countries. Apart from Germany, these also include China, India and the USA, amongst others.

Under the headings Law and Policy, Procedure, Substantive Assessment and Recent Cases, the two GvW lawyers provide an overview of the legal framework applicable to foreign investments in Germany. The article takes into account the recent modernization of German Foreign Trade Law of September 2013. The publication’s 24 chapters are coherently structured so that a comparison of the legal situation in the various jurisdictions - from Australia to Vietnam - can be made at any time.
