Our services for insurance companies range from structuring distribution systems to corporate law and supervisory law advice and drafting general terms and conditions for insurance policies.

We also provide comprehensive advice on the purchase and sale of insurance companies  (M&A). Lawyers of our firm specializing in insurance, insurance supervision and insurance broker law work together in these areas with other experts of our firm as needed (e.g. in the areas of employment, competition and tax law).A further key area of our expertise involves advice in the field of insurance broker law. GvW's lawyers are involved here both in the structuring of distribution systems in the area of insurance law and providing advice in connection with disputes about compensation claims of insurance agents (section 89b [5] of the German Commercial Code [Handelsgesetzbuch]). GvW acts in this area both for well-known insurance companies as well as for insurance brokers.

The firm's lawyers have obtained numerous landmark decisions in the field of insurance broker law and have published widely in this legal field. In court proceedings, GvW is involved in all areas of insurance law perspective and, particularly, in proceedings concerning large claims or product liability claims and in proceedings on liability. GvW also advises insurance companies and policyholders on professional liability and D&O insurance which is becoming increasingly important.
