B2B Payments in China - Understand and manage the risk of bank drafts, guarantees and other forms

Payments and payment substitutes among suppliers and commercial customers in China follow their own dynamics:

  • How should you use and manage these cash flow tools in your company?
  • Are you aware of the available options, potential legal risks and standard bank practices?
  • Do you know which aspects to watch out for and how to best position yourself in payment negotiations with your customers or suppliers in China?

In this workshop session, Mr. Tilmann Dengler, head of Global Network Banking Greater China of Deutsche Bank will share common arrangements, practical experiences and insights from bank practice. Mr. Patrick Heid, partner and head of the Shanghai office of German law firm GvW Graf von Westphalen, will provide a legal evaluation of the payment options available in commercial practice, giving useful advice on how to best manage related risks and pitfalls and suggest potential alternatives.
