GvW Graf von Westphalen advised the legal tech company Openlaw on its acquisition of Firma.de GmbH out of insolvency.
Munich-based Openlaw operates the platform Beglaubigt.de and develops digital solutions for company formations and notarial processes. Founded in 2024, the company aims to significantly accelerate and simplify the process of establishing businesses in Germany.
Firma.de has been developing digital solutions for founders and entrepreneurs for more than a decade.
As part of the insolvency proceedings, Openlaw prevailed in a competitive bidding process involving several interested parties.
GvW advised Openlaw on the transaction with a team comprising Titus Walek (lead, M&A), Lena Biendl (Insolvency), and Dr Joachim Mulch (IP).

The project involves the planning, construction, installation and commissioning of a converter system comprising an offshore converter platform in the North Sea and an onshore converter station in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The North Sea Connector 2 project is intended to connect offshore wind farms in the North Sea to the German electricity grid in future.
