Procurement and logistics: GvW Graf von Westphalen bundles expertise in new focus area

GvW’s new focus area, procurement and logistics, comprises transport and logistics law, customs and export control as well as procurement. Our multi-locational procurement and logistics team can also draw on additional support from our IT an Real Estate law experts, who have advised clients for many years on matters relating to their IT infrastructure or their real estate.

Dr Lothar Harings, head of the new focus area, proudly commented that: “The addition of our Partner Dr Marcus Schriefers at our new office in Stuttgart was the last piece of the puzzle to complete our full-range offering of industry-specific advice along the supply chain.” “Dr. Schriefers’ profound industry knowledge makes a perfect addition to the existing know-how of our Hamburg team around Associated Partner Dr Maren Mönchmeyer. This gives us greater clout in structuring and negotiating procurement and logistics contracts and enables us to offer a one-stop shop for advice on all aspects of supply chains, including business human rights responsibility.”

Our customs and export control team around Dr. Lothar Harings has been a leader on the German market for many years (as recognised most recently by JUVE Handbuch Steuern 2020). We also advise clients along the supply chain up to the customer with respect to distribution. Our distributions systems law practice is headed by Hamburg Partner Dr Raimond Emde, who is recognised as a leading expert in distribution systems law. This additional expertise in related specialist areas puts us in the ideal position to assist businesses in various respects when it comes to building and maintaining a reliable procurement, transportation and distribution network.
