Stadtwerke 2016 – GvW Graf von Westphalen addresses legal issues concerning digitalization

Digitalization and law: What are the city utilities (Stadtwerke) facing? The GvW partners Arnd Böken, Stephan Menzemer (both IT) and Helmut Kempf (Energy) will address these issues at the 20th Euroforum convention "Stadtwerke 2016" which begins today in Berlin.

The energy industry has great expectations for digitalization, and the corresponding legal framework will soon come into force. The legislature is setting high standards for IT security and data protection in the interests of the companies, the customers and the public, but this also influences the business models.

The workshop shows which specific legal requirements are being placed on the city utilities companies and energy utilities and brings companies in the energy industry to the level which makes them ready for the digital future.

GvW has continuously developed its range of advice in the energy industry in recent years (more). In addition to the core competence at the interface of the energy industry and infrastructure projects and environmental planning law, the law firm recently expanded its main focus in IT projects on the energy industry. GvW attorneys advice large companies on the supplier side, but also on the side of the customers when implementing their IT and data protection strategies.
