Wyndham sells European vacation rental business to Platinum Equity with GvW Graf von Westphalen

Wyndham Worldwide Corporation has sold its European vactation home business to Platinum Equity, LLC. The transaction with a sales volume of 1.3 billion US dollars has now been successfully closed. GvW Graf von Westphalen advised the American hotel group with regard to German law.

The European vacation hom business of the Wyndham Group includes organizers and vacation resorts as well as cottages.com, James Villa Holidays, Hoseasons, Novasol, Landal GreenParks and Wimduan. Platinum Equity can use the trademarked name "by Wyndham Vacation Rentals" for a license fee for 20 more years. The total of 110,000 Immobilien in more than 25 European countries will remain part of the loyalty program "Wyndham Rewards".

The Wyndham Group has around 8,000 hotels and more than 600,000 rooms in 66 countries and is one of the largest hotel companies in the world. The buildings are carried under 16 different trademarks, in Germany including as Wyndham, Ramada or Tryp Hotels.
