The customs and foreign trade practice of GvW Graf von Westphalen has further strengthen its national top position.
After the law firm was mentioned for the first time as the sole firm in the highest level of ranking for foreign trade in the recently published JUVE Handbook for Commercial Law firms 2016/2017 (JUVE), GvW is recommended in the current issue of Who's Who Legal Trade & Customs 2016 (Who's Who) as the only German law firm with several attorneys in the areas of customs law and export control.
In the field of Compliance, GvW is also recommended as the only law firm for the sections “foreign trade, export control and customs compliance“, which recognizes the increasing importance of advice in connection with compliance inspections for export and import oriented companies and the development of corresponding compliance structures.
The head of the GvW practice group Dr Lothar Harings, according to JUVE, is one of the ”leading names for foreign trade law”. The “completely professional attorney” (competitors) works “always with competence and a pragmatic approach“ (client) and is “one of the few attorneys from whom one can expect clear statements which I also understand“ (client). Dr Harings is recognized in Who's Who for his “excellent expertise“ in the areas of customs law and export controls.
In addition to Lothar Harings, Marian Niestedt is also listed as one of only six attorneys in Germany in the JUVE category „“leading names for foreign trade law“. He is the three most frequently recommended attorneys in Germany (Who's Who) and is praised there for his “ thorough analyses and his “fast reaction times“.
Dr Gerd Schwendinger, who is recommended also in the area of state aid law in addition to customs and foreign trade law, according to JUVE, is respected by his competitors for his “knowledge of the field” and his ”excellent approach”.
