Space Law

“New Space” expertise

Our attorneys advise clients in their space-related projects in all relevant national and international aspects of space law and related legal matters.

Given the rapid expansion of space-related commercial activities, questions concerning the legal framework for private companies arise. Germany has ratified many of the relevant international agreements regulating government activities in outer space. A comprehensive German Space Act governing private commercial space activities has been announced for a long time, but is yet to come.

The space industry opens new business opportunities across industries. In addition to traditional market players such as satellite manufacturers and service providers, new entrants are contributing to the growth of the New Space economy. In Germany, a “New Space” start-up scene is emerging rapidly, developing new technologies and business models. We advise and represent our clients in all legal and regulatory aspects of space-related business activities. They benefit from our long-standing experience in advising in the development of international satellite systems where we lead companies through the complex approval and coordination procedures under international law, European Union law and national law, and assisting in all legal matters arising in space-related activities.
