Lars Hillmann

Lars Hillmann specializes in customs and foreign trade law. He advises companies and represents his clients on the implementation of the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Further, he is experienced in implementing compliance programs in the areas of customs, export control, embargos and sanctions. He represents his clients vis-à-vis customs, EU-comission, export control authorities, German Emissions Trading Authority (DEHSt)and in court. He regularly defends companies and officers in administrative or criminal investigations in the field of trade law. Already during his education, he focused on cross-border trade matters; for example during his time in one of Africa’s leading international law firms in Nairobi.
