Electric trucks: GvW advises Chinese manufacturer on market entry in the EU
GvW Graf von Westphalen advised Chinese truck manufacturer SuperPanther on the conclusion of an agreement with Austrian commercial vehicle manufacturer Steyr Automotive on the industrial production of battery-powered trucks.
The two parties will leverage their respective strengths to produce the next generation of high-performance electric trucks to the highest industrial standards. The first all-electric SuperPanther truck under this partnership is scheduled to roll off the production line of Steyr Automotive by the end of 2025. This marks SuperPanther’s entry into the European market.
GvW supported SuperPanther on the structuring of the contractual relationship with Steyr Automotive with a team consisting of Dr Volker Schwarz (lead), Dr Joachim Mulch (IP), Axel J. Klasen, Martin Egner and Alexander Castle (all focus area automotive & mobility).

GvW Graf von Westphalen advised the transmission system operator 50Hertz on the award of a major contract for the North Sea Connector 2 offshore grid connection project. The project involves the planning, construction, installation and commissioning of a converter system comprising an offshore converter platform in the North Sea and an onshore converter station in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The North Sea Connector 2 project is intended to connect offshore wind farms in the North Sea to the German electricity grid in future.
