Lindauer DORNIER Establishes First Service Centre in China with GvW

GvW Graf von Westphalen has assisted the long-established machine and plant manufacturer Lindauer DORNIER in setting up its first service center for film production lines in China. The new location in Anji (Huzhou) in Zhejiang Province, will help to provide DORNIER-customers throughout Asia even faster with commissioning, maintenance, repair, and spare parts. Huzhou is located about 150 kilometers west of Shanghai, in close proximity to numerous international film manufacturers and thus to many DORNIER-customers.

The family-owned company Lindauer DORNIER manufactures weaving machines, film stretching lines, and production equipment for the fiber composite industry. Despite its local roots in Lindau on Lake Constance, DORNIER has an international presence, and has been operating in China with a subsidiary in Shanghai that serves the East Asian markets since 2003. With the expansion of its service presence in the Asian film stretching market, DORNIER is reaffirming its long-term commitment to the region in the year of its 75th anniversary.

GvW advised Lindauer DORNIER comprehensively on all corporate law and regulatory aspects of the establishment of the new entity in China. Led by GvW partner Patrick Heid, the GvW China team included associates Ronnia Zheng and Hongyu Chen.

GvW established its own office in Shanghai in 2008 and regularly advises German, European and U.S. companies on their market entry, expansion or exit, M&A transactions, local and cross-border business relationships, and the regulatory environment in China. GvW’s China practice currently counts twelve attorneys in its offices in Shanghai, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich who are admitted to the bar in Germany, China, and/or various U.S. States.
