Financing and restructuring expert Dr Jan Fürbaß joins GvW

On 1 February 2026, Dr Jan Fürbaß joined the law firm GvW Graf von Westphalen as an associate partner. The 36-year-old, who most recently worked for a boutique law firm in Munich and before that for Hogan Lovells for many years, specialises in financing and restructuring.

Dr Jan Fürbaß advises companies, banks, financial institutions and other lenders on the structuring, implementation and negotiation of national and international financing. At the same time, his practice focuses on (financial) restructuring, where he advises financial creditors and debtors in economic crisis situations, with particular expertise in cross-border restructuring and reorganisation processes.

‘As a full-service law firm, we are gaining a financing expert in Dr Jan Fürbaß who is equally proficient in corporate, project and real estate financing,’ says Andrea Torka, who herself specialises in financing.
