Gondrom Group goes with GvW Graf von Westphalen to Rubix Germany
The shareholders of Walter Gondrom GmbH & Co KG have sold their company to Rubix Deutschland Holding GmbH. GvW Graf von Westphalen advised the Gondrom Group on this transaction, which is still subject to the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities.
The Cologne-based Gondrom Group is one of the leading providers of flow products and services in Europe with seven locations. For more than 60 years, the company has specialised in the supply of technical hoses, fittings and accessories for the transport of liquids, powders and other hazardous goods.
Rubix Germany will take over the group's operations and continue to drive them forward under the leadership of the current managing partner Frank Gerdell. With this transaction, the previous main shareholder of the Gondrom Group, Gabriele Kalesse, is successfully organising her succession and ensuring the continuation of the long-established company.
Rubix is Europe's largest supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul products and services. The company was founded in 2017 through the merger between IPH and Brammer following the acquisition of Brammer by Advent International. With its 8,000 employees at around 650 locations in 23 countries, Rubix Germany offers a comprehensive range of industrial products and services for more than 220,000 customers.
GvW advised the Gondrom Group under the leadership of Benjamin Schwarzfischer (M&A, lead), Eric Messenzehl (Corporate/M&A), Christian Kusulis (Antitrust), Karsten Kujath (Labour), Johannes Schuhmann (Real Estate), Dr. Michael Engel (Tax) and Sven-Erik Holm (Data Protection, all Frankfurt).

The Max Bögl group of companies has developed a new local public passenger transport system. The system called “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) uses magnetic levitation, or “maglev” technology and provides a clean and cost-efficient means of transport for better mobility in inner city areas. The technology is becoming increasingly popular also in other countries: Max Bögl’s most recent export order was the sale of its TSB to China. The company’s plans include building a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and extensive marketing activities to promote the technology in China – all through a sales partnership with a Chinese company.
