Joachim Herz Foundation acquires shares in VTG AG with GvW Graf von Westphalen

The Joachim Herz Stiftung will hold in the future ten percent of the share capital in VTG AG.  A corresponding sales agreement has now been concluded by the Hamburg foundation with the fund managed by Wilbur Ross.

VTG AG has its headquarters in Hamburg and is among the leading railway car leasing and track logistics companies in Europe.  The company as active in three areas involving the leasing of railway cars, track logistics and tank container logistics and had worldwide 1,445 employees in the financial year 2015 and generated sales of EUR 1,027.5 million.

The Joachim Herz Foundation was established in the year 2008 after the death of the Hamburg entrepreneur Joachim Herz. The foundation in Hamburg is involved especially in national and international projects in the areas of personal development, natural sciences and business.

GvW advises the Joachim Herz Foundation through Christian Mayer-Gießen (M&A, Corporate / lead) and Dr Patrick Wolff (Capital Markets Law).  The law firm had most recently accompanied the Foundation in the sale of its shares is TROST SE to Wessels + Müller (WM Group).
