New partner in construction law – GvW Graf von Westphalen strengthens the real estate practice in the Frankfurt office
Dr Maximilian R. Jahn, equity partner at the construction law firm of Kapellmann is moving to the construction and real estate practice of GvW Graf von Westphalen as of 1 October. The 40 year old partner in construction law will be the interface with the strong Frankfurt real estate team.
Dr Jahn advises on classic construction and architect law, real estate commercial law, especially development projects as well as the laws governing developers. The clients of Dr. Jahn, who was born in Düsseldorf, include especially large and mid-size construction companies, investors, real estate funds as well as project developers and other developers, and Dr. Jahn advises them also in all disputes. One of his “light tower” projects is the ongoing advice on the law governing construction, real estate and leases for the Karlsruher SC in the demolition and new construction of the stadium for 35,000 visitors to matches.
“We have succeeded in obtaining an excellent specialist for GvW,” said the managing partners Christof Kleinmann and Dr Robert Theissen. “We expect that having a construction law partner in Frankfurt will give us substantial synergies with the strong transaction team, including in the case of forward deals and asserting warranties in post-deal management as well as in asset management, as well as in asset, property and facility management. Our new partner will also enable us to provide legal advice to investors and funds during the course of construction and further expand our leading position in providing legal advice for development projects.”
In addition to his work as an attorney, Dr Jahn has many years of experience in continuing professional education. He regularly appears as a lecturer in seminars at IBR-online and the BFW German Association of Free Real Estate and Residential Companies.
“GvW has been one of the prime addresses in the construction and real estate industry in Germany”, commented Dr Jahn. “The real estate team has excellent connections nationally and internationally; this provides excellent possibilities. The law firm and its 27 person practice group are also extremely well equipped for my clients’ large projects.”
