ILLIES Group has taken over EKC Machinery & Plants GmbH’s business divisions concerning the markets Indonesia and Vietnam. On 17 June, insolvency proceedings were opened against EKC Machinery & Plants GmbH, a supplier of industrial solutions including the supply of machines, equipment and know-how. GvW Graf von Westphalen advised ILLIES Group on this acquisition in the course of insolvency proceedings.
ILLIES Group with its headquarters in Hamburg offers commercial and technical solutions in the field of international trade with investment goods and has been advising its business partners on funding, insurance and transport for more than 150 years. The company has 20 locations in total –18 of which are in Asia – and focusses on business in Asia. The acquisition of EKC Machinery & Plants GmbH’s business divisions fits in with the group’s strategy to further expand its core business in Asia.

GvW Graf von Westphalen advised the transmission system operator 50Hertz on the award of a major contract for the North Sea Connector 2 offshore grid connection project. The project involves the planning, construction, installation and commissioning of a converter system comprising an offshore converter platform in the North Sea and an onshore converter station in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The North Sea Connector 2 project is intended to connect offshore wind farms in the North Sea to the German electricity grid in future.
GvW Graf von Westphalen has advised Primepulse and Vsquared Ventures on the Series C financing round of NEURA Robotics GmbH. The transaction ranks among the largest venture financing rounds in the European startup ecosystem to date.
