The law firm GvW Graf von Westphalen provided legal advice to SINOS GmbH on Daimler Buses' acquisition of a 49% stake in the company. Both companies have been working closely together for several years on the operation of electric city bus fleets.
SINOS GmbH, based in Regensburg, has been developing innovative software solutions for public transport and the bus industry since 2004. The focus here is on intelligent charging and load management as well as digital tools for depots – from the integration of live data from buses to indoor positioning in the depot.
With its Mercedes-Benz, Setra, OMNIplus and BusStore brands, Daimler Buses is one of the world's leading manufacturers of buses. The product range of the Daimler Trucks subsidiary includes city, intercity and coach buses as well as bus chassis. The offering is complemented by an international service network and comprehensive services with locations in Europe, Latin America, Mexico, North America and Turkey.
GvW advised SINOS GmbH under the lead of Frankfurt partner Dr. Markus Sachslehner with a team consisting of Alexander Stefan Metz (both Corporate/M&A), Dr. Michael Engel (Tax Law) and Nicolas M. Dumont (IP).
GvW Graf von Westphalen advised the transmission system operator 50Hertz on the award of a major contract for the North Sea Connector 2 offshore grid connection project. The project involves the planning, construction, installation and commissioning of a converter system comprising an offshore converter platform in the North Sea and an onshore converter station in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The North Sea Connector 2 project is intended to connect offshore wind farms in the North Sea to the German electricity grid in future.
GvW Graf von Westphalen has advised Primepulse and Vsquared Ventures on the Series C financing round of NEURA Robotics GmbH. The transaction ranks among the largest venture financing rounds in the European startup ecosystem to date.
