GvW advises osapiens on the acquisition of BYRD Health
GvW Graf von Westphalen advised osapiens, the leading software platform for sustainable growth and ESG compliance, on the acquisition of BYRD Health. The transaction strengthens the strategic partnership between osapiens and the trade and services group Markant and its subsidiary BAYARD.
BYRD Health, previously a division of Markant subsidiary BAYARD GmbH, is one of the leading providers of master data management in the medical technology sector. BYRD Health's solutions enable companies to comply with international UDI regulations such as EUDAMED, GUDID, and TGA, as well as standardized product data management. The integration into osapiens will expand the existing services with additional AI-supported solutions in the area of product compliance.
osapiens is a technology company founded in 2018 and headquartered in Mannheim, Germany, that develops sustainability and efficiency software solutions for more than 1,900 customers worldwide. With its “osapiens HUB” platform, the company supports the implementation of regulatory requirements such as CSRD, EUDR, and LkSG. Last year, the long-standing GvW client completed a US$120 million financing round led by Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives (more).

Federal Administrative Court: Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link may be built
The Federal Administrative Court has dismissed all six pending appeals against the planning decision on the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link. Construction of the tunnel may therefore now also begin in Germany. Transport System Bögl: new local public passenger transport system a big success in China
The Max Bögl group of companies has developed a new local public passenger transport system. The system called “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) uses magnetic levitation, or “maglev” technology and provides a clean and cost-efficient means of transport for better mobility in inner city areas. The technology is becoming increasingly popular also in other countries: Max Bögl’s most recent export order was the sale of its TSB to China. The company’s plans include building a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and extensive marketing activities to promote the technology in China – all through a sales partnership with a Chinese company.
