The participant in the UEFA Champions League, Borussia Mönchengladbach, and H-Hotels AG are starting a joint hotel project. Punctually at the start of the 2018/2019 season of the German Football League, a H+ Hotel is supposed to be opened in the Borussia Park. The hotel investor is Borussia VfL 1900 Mönchengladbach GmbH, and the operator is the GvW client H-Hotels AG.
The hotel is supposed to involve an investment of around EUR 30 million and will have, in addition to 132 rooms (including 6 suites), also a business lounge and a large fitness area. The synergies between the two partner companies will also include the joint use of the food services and event space. The new construction is planned to start at the beginning of 2017.
H-Hotels AG which is headquartered in Bad Arolsen in the State of Hessen and has locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, is one of the largest hotel operators in Germany. The family led group of companies has more than 3,000 employees and has more than 9,600 rooms in hotels under the own brands H4 Hotels, H2 Hotels, H+ Hotels and Treff Hotels. H-Hotels AG also manages hotels under the RAMADA brand as a development partner for the American Wyndham Group.
GvW acted on behalf of H-Hotels under the leadership of the Berlin partner Dr. Ulrich Schroeder in the drafting, negotiation and conclusion of the hotel lease agreement.
GvW Graf von Westphalen advised the transmission system operator 50Hertz on the award of a major contract for the North Sea Connector 2 offshore grid connection project. The project involves the planning, construction, installation and commissioning of a converter system comprising an offshore converter platform in the North Sea and an onshore converter station in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The North Sea Connector 2 project is intended to connect offshore wind farms in the North Sea to the German electricity grid in future.
