National healthcare portal – GvW Graf von Westphalen supports IQWiG in developing the concept

The Institute for Quality and Efficiency in Healthcare (Institute für Qualität und Wirtschaftlichkeit im Gesundheitswesen, "IQWiG") has published the concept for a national healthcare portal.  As a central internet offering for the topic of health and prevention, the new portal is supposed to contribute as a reliable medium to the healthcare competency in the population.

In addition to providing information about health and preventive advice, the concept for the national healthcare portal above all provides navigation assistance to healthcare facilities.  The plan is that the content will be contributed by reliable content partners.  The portal is supposed to be expanded successively by a search engine with reference to external offerings as a portal with its own content modules.

The Federal Health Ministry (Bundesministerium für Gesundheit, "BMG") retained IQWiG to prepare a comprehensive concept for the national healthcare portal.  GvW advised the institute under the leadership of Dr. Bettina Meyer-Hofmann together with experts from the IT and public contracting, corporate and tax and competition law practice areas and HWG.

The process for responses is currently ongoing.  Responses can still be submitted by 13 March 2018 at 12:00 noon at berichte@iqwig.de, and they will be subsequently considered in completing the concept.
