osapiens, a software company based in Mannheim, Germany, has acquired 80 per cent of the shares of ftrace GmbH. The purpose of the acquisition is to further increase transparency in global supply chains through osapiens' technological know-how and ftrace's process and industry expertise.
ftrace is a cloud-based solution enabling traceability of products. With ftrace, consumers can trace a product at batch level throughout the entire manufacturing and processing chain. The company is the community platform of GS1 Germany, which retains a 20 per cent stake in ftrace and creates efficient and secure business processes across corporate boundaries and continents thanks to its GS1 barcodes and 24 standards in over 20 industries.
osapiens develops holistic software-as-a-service solutions (SaaS) enabling globally operating companies across various industries to ensure transparency, predictability and trust along their entire supply chain. The product- and supplier-level supply chain management of the fast growing company established in 2018 also ensures compliance with human rights, environmental protection as well as national or international laws. In this regard, osapiens – which last year received the Deutscher Gründerpreis (German Business Founder Award) for 2022 – is supported by the GvW team led by Dr Lothar Harings.
