On 3 August 2026, the European Commission published a revised version of its FAQs on the EU Packaging Regulation.
On 12 August 2026, the new Packaging Law Implementation Act will come into force at the same time as the EU Packaging Regulation. It will completely replace the existing Packaging Act and is intended to ensure the application of the PPWR in Germany.
Just two days before the adoption of the CSDDD in the Council, the Council also adopted the Regulation on a ban on the import of products made using forced labour (Forced Labour Regulation, or FLR for short).
On 15 March 2024, the Council of the European Union confirmed the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDCD) in the Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper).
Regulation 1115/2023 (EU) on Deforestation and Degradation (EUDR) has been in force since June 2023. Companies subject to the EUDR must be ready to apply the Regulation by 30 December 2024 (SMEs by 30 June 2025).
