Graf von Westphalen receives dual recognition as one of Germany’s top 100 legal employers
Graf von Westphalen is one of Germany’s most popular legal employers: Two highly respected rankings list the firm among the 100 most attractive employers for law graduates and young legal professionals.
Graf von Westphalen climbed from 29th place to 22nd place in the “Law Edition 2011” of the Trendence Graduate Barometer, a ranking conducted by the Berlin-based personnel marketing institute Trendence on the basis of a survey of more than 2,500 advanced law students, trainee lawyers and young legal professionals. In the latest azur100 top employer ranking for young lawyers, Graf von Westphalen improved its ranking from 72 last year to 41. Overall, azur, the career magazine of the leading German legal news publication JUVE, considered 100 law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies and consulting firms.
In the azur ranking, Graf von Westphalen received particularly high scores in the categories of training, career opportunities and work-life balance. The editors were impressed by the fact that new employees at Graf von Westphalen can gain experience in direct client relationships from the very start, as well as the firm’s extensive training commitments, which include a new monthly colloquium for interns, trainee lawyers and associates. In terms of work-life balance, Graf von Westphalen impressed the editors with its flexible, individually agreed-upon work models. Additional features adding to the firm’s high score in the careers category were individual mentoring programs and the option of part-time partnerships. With a view to its reputation, Graf von Westphalen was named a “leading firm” in the area of foreign trade law and a “recommended” or “frequently recommended” firm in private construction law, M&A, public procurement law, and environmental and planning law. The azur assessment also features a survey of the firms’ own associates. At Graf von Westphalen, these commeded the firm’s working environment and good partnership prospects, in particular.
