Antitrust in China
The Antimonopoly Law of the PRC entered into force on 1 August 2008. It shows that governmental and private antitrust enforcement is of increasing importance in China, and enforcement actions by antimonopoly enforcement authorities have attracted public attention. Foreign companies have also been affected.
Although an antitrust filing has become standard on M&A transactions, antitrust compliance plays a role in many other commercial decisions, contracts and negotiations.
For certain transactions, we recommend a preliminary admissibility examination under antitrust law.
