Barnes Group acquires FOBOHA shares of Adval Tech Holding AG with GvW Graf von Westphalen
Upon acquiring Adval Tech's Mold Business ("FOBOHA"), the US American Barnes Group is expanding its offering of complex tooling technologies. GvW Graf von Westphalen provided advice with regard to the shares in Germany in the transaction, which was concluded under Swiss law and is still subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
FOBOHA, headquartered in Haslach, operates three production sites in Germany, Switzerland and China. The company develops and produces complex plastic injection molds for packaging, medical purposes, consumers and use in the automobile industry. The total purchase price for the takeover, which is supposed to be completed this year, is CHF 133 million.
The Barnes Group, a worldwide active company in the aerospace industry, is using the acquisition to strengthen the Molding Solutions Division. The group is one of the leading companies in the sector with around 4,700 employees at 60 locations and sales of USD 1.2 billion.

The Barnes Group is yet another company in the field of aviation which the law firm has advised in an international transaction. In recent years, the clients of the M&A practice at GvW also included, among others, the companies Interturbine, AAR Corp. and B/E Aerospace. The firm is also currently advising a Turkish aviation company in an acquisition in Germany.

Federal Administrative Court: Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link may be built
The Federal Administrative Court has dismissed all six pending appeals against the planning decision on the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link. Construction of the tunnel may therefore now also begin in Germany. Transport System Bögl: new local public passenger transport system a big success in China
The Max Bögl group of companies has developed a new local public passenger transport system. The system called “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) uses magnetic levitation, or “maglev” technology and provides a clean and cost-efficient means of transport for better mobility in inner city areas. The technology is becoming increasingly popular also in other countries: Max Bögl’s most recent export order was the sale of its TSB to China. The company’s plans include building a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and extensive marketing activities to promote the technology in China – all through a sales partnership with a Chinese company.
