Poland: Conclusion of supply contracts

Despite objective circumstances (pandemic and war in Ukraine), due to its east-west location, transport network and logistical facilities, Poland can provide a reliable link in supply chains.

This is influenced by Poland’s strategic location on the Baltic Sea. The port of Gdansk, operated by the Singaporean company PSA International, is the second most important port for container traffic in the Baltic Sea (in 2019, it handled 17.9% of container traffic in the Baltic Sea countries). In the third quarter of 2022 alone, more than 50,000 tonnes of international air cargo was handled in Poland.

The legal security of supply chains in Poland is influenced by the possibility of arranging legal relationships quite freely within the freedom of contract principle under the Civil Code. The EU internal market freedoms also significantly facilitate the creation of stable and uninterrupted supply chains.
