Aviation – New focus area at GvW Graf von Westphalen

The law firm GvW Graf von Westphalen has bundled its expertise in the field of aviation in a new focus area. With our integrated team of lawyers with different specializations and fielded from different offices we aim to offer our clients customized advice and a resourceful network in the aviation field.

GvW has traditionally been asked to assist in transactions in the aerospace industry. In past years the firm's attorneys have advised on M&A transactions having an aggregate value of more than 1 billion Euro. Airlines benefit from the full service offering of the law firm and specialized attorneys in the relevant fields, such as collective bargaining law, insolvency, state aid, subsidy law and procurement law. Through the addition of the law firm GRONEFELD, GvW has been able to further expand its expertise in advising airports on such issues as environmental law and planning law.

The aviation focus area is headed by our Düsseldorf partner Dr. Malte J. Hiort who has assisted for many years in particular US companies in the area of corporate law and with their M&A transactions in Germany.

"Our new area focusing on aviation is the first contact point for our clients in the aerospace industry, airlines and airports," said Christof Kleinmann and Dr. Robert Theissen, managing partners at GvW. "The team knows the specific aspects of providing advice in the industry and has developed a network which provides additional added value for our clients."
