GvW is advising the seller of the Rabenstein Clinic on its sale to VITREA
GvW Graf von Westphalen advised Thomas Bruschinsky, the former owner and managing director of the Rabenstein Clinic, on the sale of the clinic to the VITREA Group. Following the notarisation of the sale at the end of 2025, the transaction has now been finalised. With this transaction, VITREA – Europe’s third-largest provider of rehabilitation services – is further expanding its presence in the German rehabilitation market.
The Rabenstein Clinic, based in the Hessian town of Bad Salzhausen, has 180 beds and employs around 190 employees. Its medical specialisms lie in the fields of orthopaedics and internal medicine. In addition, the clinic offers specialised rehabilitation programmes, including those for obesity, medically and vocationally oriented rehabilitation (MBOR) and behavioural medicine-based orthopaedic rehabilitation (VMO). Thomas Bruschinsky took over the clinic 34 years ago and developed it into a well-established rehabilitation facility.
With more than 70 inpatient and outpatient facilities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, VITREA is one of Europe’s leading rehabilitation providers. In Germany, the group operates 27 rehabilitation clinics, two acute care hospitals, eight outpatient rehabilitation centres, two medical care centres, nine care homes, as well as other healthcare and prevention services.
GvW advised the seller on this transaction with a team comprising Dr Marco Zessel (lead), Alexander Stefan Metz, Jan Hüniken (all Corporate/M&A), Dr Peter Trösser (Healthcare & Life Sciences), Sven-Erik Holm (IT/Data Protection), Christian Kusulis (Competition Law), Andrea Torka, Alina Sturm (both Property Law), Nicolas M. Dumont (IP) and Karsten Kujath (Employment Law).

Transport System Bögl: new local public passenger transport system a big success in China
The Max Bögl group of companies has developed a new local public passenger transport system. The system called “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) uses magnetic levitation, or “maglev” technology and provides a clean and cost-efficient means of transport for better mobility in inner city areas. The technology is becoming increasingly popular also in other countries: Max Bögl’s most recent export order was the sale of its TSB to China. The company’s plans include building a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and extensive marketing activities to promote the technology in China – all through a sales partnership with a Chinese company.
