GvW elects new Management – Change in the Law Firm’s Board

GvW Graf von Westphalen has established its new management.  At the most recent partner’s meeting in Athens, the partners in the Law Firm reappointed for the fifth time their managing partners Christof Kleinmann (Frankfurt) and Dr. Robert Theissen (Hamburg). Two new members were elected to the GvW Board, Dr. Wolfram Desch (Munich) and David Wende (Frankfurt). They take seats held by Carsten Liersch (Berlin) and Ulrich Stuhlfelner (Munich). Together with Dr. Ronald Steiling (Hamburg), they will constitute the future controlling board.

The double top position consisting of Christof Kleinmann and Dr. Robert Theissen is now entering its sixth term of office. The management has set a clear course towards specialization since the year 2009, combined with an approach for providing advice based on teams and involvement of multiple offices. This has proven successful, as the numbers show. The economic results have been substantially increased every year, most recently with record billings of EUR 46.6 million and record profit of more than EUR 21 million (more). At the same time, the law firm has established itself in these past years as the most popular employer among law firms with a focus on mid-sized companies (more). GvW continues to have an excellent position even in a time when it is becoming increasingly difficult to find qualified personnel.

Dr. Wolfram Desch is new in the board. He is 44 years old and has been a partner at GvW in the Munich office since 1 August 2015. He provides comprehensive service to his clients in the fields of restructuring and insolvency as well as directors and officers liability and professional malpractice liability. David Wende (50) has also been appointed to the law firm’s board for the first time. He advises in all areas of commercial real estate law, especially large volume real estate transactions and development projects. Based in Frankfurt, David Wende has been a partner in the law firm for ten years. Dr. Ronald Steiling remains the chairman of the law firm’s board. He has now held this office for twelve years. This 62 year old partner in the Hamburg office is an expert in environmental and planning law and above all provides advice in these fields for large infrastructure projects as well as companies in the food and feed industry.

The law firm is very grateful to its partners Carsten D. Liersch (Berlin) as well as Ulrich Stuhlfelner (Munich) for their many years of successful work in the law firm’s board.
