GvW Graf von Westphalen supports the management of the CLARUS Films Group in the entry by PREMIUM Equity Partners
Investment funds advised by PREMIUM Equity Partners, Frankfurt am Main, have acquired a majority participation in the CLARUS Film Group located in Dietzenbach near Frankfurt. GvW Graf von Westphalen advised the two managing directors of CLARUS Films who will continue to hold shares in the business. The seller in this transaction is PINOVA Capital, an independent investment company headquartered in Munich.
CLARUS Films was established more than 30 years ago and is one of the leading specialists in the area of the packaging film industry with almost 60 million Euro in sales. The company, which is headquartered in Dietzenbach, is located in direct proximity to the Frankfurt Airport and is Europe's largest independent supplier of highly transparent packaging film.
The support by PREMIUM Equity Partners is supposed to contribute, among other areas, to the continued expansion of the European business.
PREMIUM Equity Partners is an investment company established in 2011 with a focus on strong, niche companies in the DACH region with sales between 10 million and 50 million Euro. PREMIUM Equity Partners invests capital in growth financings, succession solutions and spin-offs.
GvW Graf von Westphalen advised the two managing directors of CLARUS Films in this transaction through Titus Walek (lead, M&A) and Christof Kleinmann (employment law). Titus Walek has already known CLARUS Films since PINOVA Capital invested in CLARUS Films in the year 2012. Titus Walek advised the sellers in that transaction.

Federal Administrative Court: Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link may be built
The Federal Administrative Court has dismissed all six pending appeals against the planning decision on the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link. Construction of the tunnel may therefore now also begin in Germany. GvW advised the State of Schleswig-Holstein and was represented by a Hamburg team consisting of Dr Ronald Steiling (lead), Corinna Lindau, Dr Dietrich Drömann, Prof. Dr Christian Winterhoff, Dr Andreas Wolowski, Saskia Soravia, Dr Stefanie Ramsauer, Dr Annika Bleier, Felix Kazimierski and Niclas Langhans. Transport System Bögl: new local public passenger transport system a big success in China
The Max Bögl group of companies has developed a new local public passenger transport system. The system called “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) uses magnetic levitation, or “maglev” technology and provides a clean and cost-efficient means of transport for better mobility in inner city areas. The technology is becoming increasingly popular also in other countries: Max Bögl’s most recent export order was the sale of its TSB to China. The company’s plans include building a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and extensive marketing activities to promote the technology in China – all through a sales partnership with a Chinese company.
