PMN Awards 2022: Christof Kleinmann and Dr Robert Theissen named Law Firm Managers of the Year
GvW also successful in the “Business Development” category with its supply chain work
At yesterday’s PMN Awards 2022, GvW Graf von Westphalen received two awards for management excellence: Christof Kleinmann and Dr Robert Theissen were named Law Firm Managers of the Year. The firm's two Managing Partners were recognised in the ballroom of the Senckenberg Research Institute in Frankfurt as “outstanding leadership figures”. The jury also found GvW to be the most convincing entry in the “Business Development” category with its strategic BD initiative relating to the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG).
The laudatory address noted how it was “quite remarkable and impressive how consistently Christof Kleinmann and Robert Theissen have forged ahead with GvW’s transformation in many areas like digitalisation, innovation and transparency”.
For more than 13 years now, GvW’s successful management has been achieved under the dual leadership of Kleinmann/Theissen. Thanks to its strong growth over the past decade, the firm is now present with over 200 lawyers at all German business centres.
This year GvW also came out on top in the “Business Development” category: GvW’s strategic BD early initiative for the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG) launched by the team led by Hamburg partner Dr Lothar Harings won out over projects of the other finalists, the law firms Allen & Overy and KPMG Law. “We are very pleased that the jury specifically highlighted the high degree of user friendliness offered by our tool ‘ESG Check: Supply chain’”, Dr Lothar Harings said. The tool provides important insights and information, assisting with the Hamburg team’s many different activities by providing specialised advice on implementing the Supply Chain Act (LkSG) in practice.
With the PMN Awards, law firms’ management and their convincing projects are distinguished and recognised in areas such as Communication, Legal Tech, Human Resources, Sustainability or Business Development.

Transport System Bögl: new local public passenger transport system a big success in China
The Max Bögl group of companies has developed a new local public passenger transport system. The system called “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) uses magnetic levitation, or “maglev” technology and provides a clean and cost-efficient means of transport for better mobility in inner city areas. The technology is becoming increasingly popular also in other countries: Max Bögl’s most recent export order was the sale of its TSB to China. The company’s plans include building a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and extensive marketing activities to promote the technology in China – all through a sales partnership with a Chinese company.
