Strong partnership in the reusable market: GvW advises reCup on the acquisition of Crafting Future

GvW Graf von Westphalen has advised reCup GmbH on the acquisition of Crafting Future GmbH.

With RECUP/REBOWL, reCup GmbH operates the largest reusable system for the take-away/to-go market in Germany and, with a partner network of approx. 21,000 locations, offers an accessible and comprehensive alternative to disposable packaging. The company’s vision is to create a sustainable and circular ecosystem for the avoidance of single-use packaging.

Crafting Future GmbH is not only a developer and producer of sustainable reusable containers but also an innovation driver with the vision of reducing waste and closing material cycles. The impact start-up thinks sustainability through from the beginning to the end: Even today, the products are designed in such a way that, at the end of the period of use, they can be recycled in the best possible manner. In addition to the focus on product development, Crafting Future supplies approx. 5,000 outlets with customised white label solutions. These include, inter alia, a large food retailer as well as selected business caterers and restaurants.

The focus of the partnership is to provide the best reusable solutions for the rapidly growing reusable market entailing an obligation to offer reusable solutions and taking into account the packaging tax and the new provisions of the European packaging legislation. With this partnership, both companies are pooling their respective expertise and bring Germany’s largest reusable solutions even closer together along with product and innovation know-how.
