GvW advises on the sale of ZES ZIMMER Electronic Systems to Rohde & Schwarz
The technology group Rohde & Schwarz has acquired ZES ZIMMER Electronic Systems GmbH with effect from 1 July 2025. GvW Graf von Westphalen provided comprehensive legal advice to the seller in this corporate sale.
ZES ZIMMER has been developing high-precision power measurement technology for over 40 years and is one of the leading providers in this field. The family-owned company, based in Oberursel, Hesse, supports numerous applications with its powerful product portfolio, which are industry-leading, particularly in the fields of e-mobility, industrial electronics and renewable energies. With the ongoing electrification revolutionising the energy and mobility sectors in particular, power electronics – and the corresponding measurement technologies – are becoming increasingly important. The site of ZES ZIMMER will be retained and the company will continue to operate within Rohde & Schwarz Group as provider of power measurement technology.
Rohde & Schwarz is a global technology group headquartered in Munich. The privately-owned company develops cutting-edge technology in the fields of test & measurement, technology systems and networks & cybersecurity. In financial year 2023/2024, it generated revenue of €2.93 billion with over 14,000 employees worldwide.

Federal Administrative Court: Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link may be built
The Federal Administrative Court has dismissed all six pending appeals against the planning decision on the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link. Construction of the tunnel may therefore now also begin in Germany. Transport System Bögl: new local public passenger transport system a big success in China
The Max Bögl group of companies has developed a new local public passenger transport system. The system called “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) uses magnetic levitation, or “maglev” technology and provides a clean and cost-efficient means of transport for better mobility in inner city areas. The technology is becoming increasingly popular also in other countries: Max Bögl’s most recent export order was the sale of its TSB to China. The company’s plans include building a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and extensive marketing activities to promote the technology in China – all through a sales partnership with a Chinese company.
