GvW advises Martens & Prahl on reorganisation of credit insurance division
GvW Graf von Westphalen has advised the Martens & Prahl Group on the reorganisation of its credit insurance division. Martens & Prahl previously held shares in Hansekontor Maklergesellschaft mbH, an insurance broker with its seat in Hamburg, that is active in the financial protection of companies, in particular credit insurance, factoring, guarantees and fidelity guarantee insurance. All shareholders have sold their shares in the company to MRH Trowe, one of the ten largest German industrial brokers. Martens & Prahl will strengthen the areas of credit insurance, factoring and corporate financing in future through new co-operations and will broaden their scope. The aim is to offer partner companies further opportunities and customers an even wider range of independent and highly qualified services. The co-operation between Hansekontor and Martens & Prahl will in principle also be continued.
The Martens & Prahl Group, with its seat in Lübeck, is one of the ten largest insurance brokers in Germany. Martens & Prahl is the brand umbrella, strategic initiator and service provider for more than 90 insurance brokers, most of whom serve clients from the domestic and international industrial SME sector in Germany. Martens & Prahl has approx. 1,000 employees and generates an annual turnover of approximately 110 million euros.
Under the lead of Hamburg based partner Dr Ritesh Rajani (Corporate/M&A), Martens & Prahl Group was advised by a team consisting of Christian Mayer-Gießen, Laurens Klinkert, Maximilian Andersen and Nina Soggeberg (all Corporate/M&A; Hamburg), Dr Christian Triebe (IP; Hamburg), Dr Carsten Bittner (Antitrust; Hamburg) and Dr Arne Schmidt (Tax; Hamburg).

Transport System Bögl: new local public passenger transport system a big success in China
The Max Bögl group of companies has developed a new local public passenger transport system. The system called “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) uses magnetic levitation, or “maglev” technology and provides a clean and cost-efficient means of transport for better mobility in inner city areas. The technology is becoming increasingly popular also in other countries: Max Bögl’s most recent export order was the sale of its TSB to China. The company’s plans include building a 3.5 km test track in Chengdu and extensive marketing activities to promote the technology in China – all through a sales partnership with a Chinese company.
