GvW Arbitration Networking Lunch

The Berlin Dispute Resolution Days will take place in Berlin from 9 to 12 September. GvW Graf von Westphalen is taking part this year and is organising a networking event in our Berlin office at Potsdamer Platz. The programme includes a casual networking session over a buffet lunch with brief key notes on controversial, practical arbitration matters:

Vulnerability of arbitration clauses in distribution law: Did you know that German courts ignore arbitration clauses if the court sees a risk that specific distribution law claims could be disregarded by the arbitral tribunal? Can overriding mandatory provisions affect arbitrability and how can this be avoided when drafting contracts? We will briefly present the background and would like to discuss the consequences and how to deal with this case law in small groups.
"The New 2024 CIETAC Arbitration Rules – Real progress of the arbitration landscape in China" is another topic that we will cover at the event.
